Make today your day 1

Mondays, A fresh start, new week, the inevitable day 1.  Today is day 1 for my new boot camp. && It always excites me to kick off a new boot camp because of the energy and hope my challengers show up with. They commit to joining with their heart set on crushing their goals. They are excited, full of energy, not sure what to expect but ready to try their hardest. They want to be healthier, happier and more confident. The BEST part about my job is giving others the opportunity to do something for themselves. I love seeing them PROUD. Sharing their sweaty selfies, saving no to junk food. Smiling because for the first time in forever they did something for them.  You see, these small acts. They are HUGE acts of courage. Facing your life and deciding you want to change, that is hard. It means you have to overcome old habits and create new ones.  Often our biggest struggle isn't that we aren't capable. Its that we don't believe in ourselves yet.  To ...

100 days for me.

100 days. It seems so long, but goes by so quick when you're living it. 100 days ago I made a commitment to a 100 day program. Not just for the results, but for me. I committed to showing up every single day doing the best I could. To give to my health & happiness. My goal through the 100 days was just that; to be happy, find my happy & take care of me. You see, so many times people start a fitness journey because they want to lose weight. They focus on the scale, their jean size, the pain points they feel when they look in the mirror. They say yes because they want results, but give up before they get there. But progress takes time. Results take hard work. It means showing up day in and day out. It means being patient. Motivation wont keep you going. When life gets hard; you're tired, kids need you, your routine gets thrown off the first person you give up on is you. You have to find a big enough reason to keep going, so on those hard days you're will...

Turkey Run Start Park

This weekend we decided to get away for the day. Our family needed an unplugged day outside with each other. Honestly we have only hiked together a few times because, well kids. Its hard with 3 littles all so close in age. When one wants carried, they ALL want carried. With summer coming to an end I'm making it a goal to get outdoors before it's too cold. Anyways, we decided to go for it. It was a drive for us, but came prepared. We packed extra outfits for the boys along with food for lunch. If you're like me, you're all for saving money so here is what we had! We  prepped a cooler with fruit, tortillas, lunch meat -- specifically chicken and pepperonis-- cheese, crackers, carrots, raisins; just things that are simple, easy & we can take on the go. PLUS lots and lots of water. In the map we weren't sure where to plug in our GPS so we stopped by the camp store before we  went too far and the cashier was sooo helpful. The shop was awesome. In front o...

Who am I?

Hey there, Thanks for stumbling upon my blog. I'm not sure what brings you here, but I hope in my words you can find just what you're looking for. Before I dive in, I feel like I need to tell you who I am. I'm Deidra, the writer, the momma, the doer. Literally I wear like a hundred hat. I have 3 amazing boys who I get to stay home with daily. My husband Kenny is my best friend & biggest supporter. He is a union carpenter & the best daddy to our boys. Raising a family, now that shits hard. Its a full time job in itself. On top of that I'm also a virtual health coach. Each day I get to wake up and share my heart, my journey and inspire other women. Being a "health & fitness coach" is something I literally NEVER would have imagined. I'm the girl that hates physical activity and can smash a pizza like nobody's business. How this fell into my lap, well that's a different story. But every single day I get to wake up passionate about hel...
